    Dehradun a Green City, has its own HeritageDehradun is a favourite tourist destination and every year it attracts visitors - pilgrims and enthusiasts - from different walks of life. The city itself experiences temperate climate, it is a great place to plan a holiday with beautiful places to visit and a choice of excursions to carry out. Dehradun is situated close to Rishikesh, Haridwar, Gangotri, Yanumotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath, thus helping as the entrance to world full of spirituality, harmony and adventure. Being located close to the hill resort of Mussoorie, Dehradun boasts of a healthy climate and exotic locales. Be it shoppers or trekkers or pilgrims, Dehradun has something for everyone!
In Dehradun, grows some of the most delicious fruits and crops. One of these is the fruit, "Litchi". Litchi plantations were prevalent in Dehradun even before 1890. Although, the popularity of Litchi did not take off immediately, it started peeking up by 1940 when every orchard consisted of at least a dozen Litchi trees.The goods that have made Dehradun known within India are "Dehradooni basmati rice", bakery products and lychee.The City situated at a height of 1500 to 2500 feet above sea level .
Geographically, the green Doon city lies between two great river systems - Ganga and Yamuna.has always been famous for various educational institutes that are present in the city. Its moderate climate attracts tourists during the year.A must to visit city with its striking beauty has many temples shimmering the spirituality of the place, a great number of gift shops that give shoppers a wonderful experience, and obviously being situated at the base of the hills is an attractive spot for trekkers.

The City is linked to rest of the country by way 3 ways of transportation by air, by road and by rail.
The heart of the city's activities is the Clock Tower (Ghanta-ghar), a composition with 5 functioning clocks
